Administration Wakes Up After Kanak News Report! CCTV Cameras Restored In Umerkote Town

Описание: The administration has finally taken action after Kanak News highlighted the alarming condition of CCTV cameras in Umerkote, a major commercial hub in Nabarangpur district bordering Chhattisgarh.

For years, most of the CCTV cameras installed for crime control and traffic monitoring were lying damaged, tilted or stolen due to poor maintenance. Out of 64 high-resolution cameras worth ₹70 lakh, only 5 were functional.

🔴 After the Kanak News report, authorities immediately swung into action.
• Umerkote Municipality Executive Officer and SDPO jointly inspected all CCTV spots
• Cameras were repaired, restored and repositioned
• Over 60 CCTV cameras have now been reinstalled
• Around ₹35 lakh spent on upgrading and adding new units
• All restored cameras have been officially handed over to the police for monitoring
