Hey everybody! So much behind the scenes work has happened this week & I'm really pleased with progress, as demonstrated with this video we have so much now:
Full working weapon stats (impact, range, stability, handling, reload speed, rpm, magazine, level req, element type, ammo type, slot type, item version number)
We have perks, which will resemble Destiny 2 almost 1-1 (for legendary weapons at least). The difference however is some perks are just not possible with the systems in use, or need changing. The plus side is that because of those same systems, a LOT of new unique perks can be implemented in their places. I have a list nearing 100 perks, which can hopefully all work in the server. But we have like Destiny 2, a scope perk, magazine perk, and 2 damage perks, as well as an origin perk.
Weapons will have different rolls with different perks, but the limitations of the Minecraft systems means each combination has to be manually coded, so for launch weapons will have a set amount of rolls / combos. But to you and the players you won't notice this really.
Enemies have health bars & hit indicators! The colours of the indicator may change based on damage, and the health bar will decrease as mob health decreases.
I've changed the item card to be a bit more compact, and now have the stat numbers nicely aligned on the left side for better readability, and also separated the sections better.
The bow archetype has been made, another video will be posted on them in the coming week.

Some additional notes posted to our discord over the past few days to a week:
The campaign has been fully written now
The server is now being hosted on an actual server & not my pc
Internally I've got deadlines set now for milestones (certain systems, builds, opening the server, etc.) No more info on these to be given until closer to the time & I can be sure. Until then I'll continue to share dev-updates & ofc we have the build project in January.

Blue lightsaber + minor redesign of the blade (will have its own video soon)
Additionally, based on feedback, a few changes to the Micro-Missile Pulse Rifle:
Increased projectile velocity
Increased delay between bursts

Introducing Player Stats & Armour Archetypes (will have its own video soon)
These acts as the equivalent as Destiny's armour stats, with 9 stats instead of 6. The armour system in this server will work quite similar to Destiny 2, in that there are also armour archetypes, with each having focuses on specific stats. The change however is there will not be a mod system, instead armour will roll perks like weapons, but more info on that to come in the future.
Also a little extra change, all items will display a version number on them. This is so that if the item changes in the future, players will be able to check if their item is outdated (There will probably be a list available somewhere with all items and their most recent version number)
There will also be weapon proficiencies. So the more you use a weapon type the better you will be with it - kinda like Borderlands 1

What is The Destiny Playground
The Destiny Playground is a personal project where I’m reimagining how Destiny could feel inside Minecraft. It’s inspired by the world and style of Destiny, but it won’t follow the story one-to-one, I’ll be creating my own take on the universe, systems, weapons, & lore.

Right now, there’s no public server, and there won’t be one until I have enough built (& can afford to host it). For now, this is my creative space: a place for me to experiment, prototype ideas, recreate Destiny style gameplay, and have fun bringing it to life. I hope to host a 1-day beta test late 2025 or early 2026 before opening a server in Early-Access.

I’ll be sharing progress, updates, concepts, weapon work, & anything I build right here in this Discord server. Feel free to chat, give feedback, or just follow along with the journey.
