In this tutorial I’m grading with a Depth Map the same way I would for a client: no over-planning, just practical decisions and clean control as we go.

You’ll see how I:
• Generate and use a Depth Map for real grading decisions (not just a gimmick)
• Combine the Depth Map with Power Windows to control exactly where it’s allowed to work
• Reuse that same Depth Map to drive a Look Creator node, so the “look” respects depth
• Treat the Depth Map node like a normal grading node: any tool in Resolve can be used on it, because the matte works in conjunction with your grade
This is a “journey” session: you’ll watch the look evolve in real time, with the same thought process you’d use under client pressure.
