Odisha government has issued show-cause notices to seven doctors at MKCG Medical College and Hospital in Berhampur for unauthorised absence from duty. Among the seven, three assistant professors had been absent for over five years, while the remaining four were absent for periods ranging from one to three years. The Health Department has directed these doctors to respond within a week, explaining why action should not be taken against them as per the Odisha Service Code rules.
