Nominator, Jeni Prenatt, has this to say about her: "Allie has been instrumental in creating, implementing, and growing our district's Access Team and Library (Assistive Technology Library) from the ground up. Prior to this implementation, our district did not have a systematic approach to supporting students with assistive technology devices, mainly due to a lack of our access to devices, as well as a lack of understanding and knowledge of Universal Design (UDL) for Learning and Assistive Technology (AT). Allie was, and continues to be, determined to bridge the gaps between equitable access to education through the development of an in-house lending library. She has successfully secured grants the last two consecutive years to ensure funding for much needed technology to support all students in Clark-Pleasant. Our students continue to make significant growth socially, emotionally and academically because of her passion for ensuring that all students have a voice, as well as equitable, meaningful, and immediate access to their education through UDL and AT supports. This is evident when observing students confidently using their communication devices while out in the community or at a school event, independently playing games with peers using adaptive switches, or students using their eye gaze to tell a silly joke on their device. It is because of Allie that Clark-Pleasant can truly work to meet the needs of all students by any means necessary."
