STORYLINE:
Life in Riyadh appeared to be continuing largely as normal on Wednesday, after Iran-backed Houthis in Yemen said they launched a major military operation in Saudi Arabia.

Streets were noticeably quieter, with fewer vehicles on the roads.

Schools have moved classes online, while some companies have instructed employees to work from home amid security concerns.

The changes have left parts of the usually busy capital feeling unusually empty, even as businesses and daily activities continue operating.

The Houthis said they launched a major military operation against oil facilities and an international airport in Saudi Arabia.

Tuesday’s attack, which the rebels said involved ballistic and cruise missiles and drones, came after the Saudi-led coalition struck an oil facility in Yemen’s rebel-held capital of Sanaa.

Saudi Arabia's Civil Defense said debris from two intercepted Houthi ballistic missiles fell on residential areas in Riyadh, injuring four people and damaging 15 homes.
