A Week in a Truck Driver's Life | Dumping to Big Iron Heavy Haul

Описание: This week on the road starts with a quick switch from parking the lowboy and hooking up the dump trailer to start hauling gravel and sand. Once that’s done, I make a couple runs from PJ Keating in Lunenburg down to a job site in Norwood, Massachusetts, delivering 1½-inch stone that’s being used to build a pad so trucks can safely back in and dump snow in a muddy field.

As the week rolls on, the weather starts warming up and the snow begins to melt. Around New England that means one thing, wet roads, muddy gravel pits, and doing everything possible to keep the truck halfway clean…which doesn’t always work out.

Later in the week it’s time to switch gears again. The dump trailer comes off and the lowboy goes back on for a heavy haul move. I head over to Watertown, MA to load up a Komatsu 228 excavator with a custom snow bucket and haul it out to the gravel pit in Littleton.

To wrap up the week, we get hit with a little ice storm, but the work doesn’t stop. We keep hauling, keep moving equipment, and finish the week the same way a lot of New England truckers do this time of year, with a muddy yard, a dirty truck, and another week in the books.
