Gud ka Halwa  / Jaggery Halwa

Winter Special Indian Sweet Dish

An Indian dessert made with semolina, whole wheat flour, jaggery and loads of nuts. This halwa is perfect to ward off cold and cough blues. Halwa is a quintessential Indian dessert that nobody can ever resist and is made in homes on almost all special occasions and festivals. Gud ka halwa is a great option to make during the winters for a dinner party. Gud ka Halwa is a rich halwa, you can serve it and relish it in small quantities but I would suggest you to not skimp on the ghee. Good quality cow ghee is very important to give this halwa its character and that traditional and ancient appeal.

Ingredients:
2 tbs samolina
2 tbs gram flour
1/4 cup whole wheat flour
1/4 cup desi ghee
1/2 cup jaggery
8-10 almonds
8-10 Cashew nuts
8-10 raisins
1 1/2 cup water
