Uttar Pradesh Governor Anandiben Patel has urged the people to not indulge in blind faith. Speaking at a programme, she said, "Such a big accident happened as people were trying to get Baba's feet. People should not have fallen into such superstition. I consider spreading such as a crime. Action must be taken against such people". A stampede at a religious congregation in Hathras district of Uttar Pradesh on July 2 killed 121 people, most of them women, as devotees suffocated to death and bodies piled atop each other.
