Multiple pregnancy rate. What do you mean by Multiple pregnancy? More than 1 pregnancy, that is twins or triplets. Twins is with 2 gestational sac and triplets is 3 gestational sac. So the chances of having Multiple pregnancy in IVF is very high, that is if a person is underdogs IVF procedure, she has a chance of having twins at the rate of 40%. So that means if 100 women are undergoing IVF, 40 of them are having of twins. But the whole world is moving towards single embryo transfer. Instead of taking 2 embryos, we will transfer single embryo each time into the uterus. By doing so , the pregnancy rate might be slightly similar but the cumulative pregnancy rate that means if we have single embryo transfer the pregnancy rate might be slightly better and the chances of twins will be less. So the whole world is moving towards single embryo transfer.
