Описание: He served as a mountain jaeger in the Reconnaissance Battalion of the SS Division "Nord". Before the Soviet Union was invaded in June 1941, the SS Division "Nord" was sent to Finland, with the aim of invading the Soviet Union by operating in the Karelian direction, under the command of the 36th Army Corps (Wehrmacht). When Finland declared war upon the Soviet Union on June 25, 1941, that group was unable to break through the Red Army positions and was forced back. Moreover, they suffered serious losses.
