A William Hamer Production for JOHN GROOM'S ASSOCIATION FOR DISABLED PEOPLE.
Archive Synopsis: This film looks at the way that the John Grooms Association provides services for the disabled, so that they can live a normal life. The film looks at the employment of the disabled, which include making flowers in the resident's homes run by the association and the building of new homes especially catering for disabled residents. Cliff Richard makes an appearance and is on hand to launch a new bus, which will allow the residents to travel into London.
The sucessor charity is called Livability ( www.livability.org.uk ) and still provides help and support to disabled people of all ages.
Released in 1969 or 1970, this is a new digital transfer of an original 16mm Kodachrome library print.
