Taken from WOR-TV's airing of The Laurel & Hardy Show. WOR-TV (channel 9) is now WWOR-TV, and today it provides MyNetworkTV programming to New York City, while licensed to Secaucus, New Jersey. The L&H movie was "Pardon Us."
WOR in fact changed its call letters the coming spring, upon ownership changes. The FCC still had a requirement that TV and radio properties with different owners could not have the same call letters, since RKO owned both WOR radio and WOR-TV. WOR was RKO's second property to be sold, as they still owned and KHJ (KCAL) and WHBQ in Memphis (which was WWOR's sister station again under Fox until 2014).
