Russell Fry wins Republican nomination for US House of Rep. District 7: Unofficial results

Описание: Russell Fry has won the Republican nomination for the US House of Representatives, District 7.

The Republican primary election for South Carolina’s 7th Congressional District drew national attention not long after Congressman Tom Rice joined Democrats and nine other Republicans in voting to impeach former President Donald Trump for his role in the Jan. 6 riot at the U.S. Capitol.

“Today Republicans rose up in mass to reclaim our seat in Congress. Republicans expect our U.S. Representative to accurately represent us and our conservative convictions in Washington. But this is not a win for Russell Fry, it’s a huge win for we the people," Fry said. "Now is the time for us to unite as Republicans."

Fry will be up against Democrat Daryl Scott, who is running unopposed.

The SC Republican Party Chairman, Drew McKissick, sent the following statement congratulating Fry:

"Congratulations to Trump endorsed State Representative Russell Fry on winning the Republican primary outright! South Carolina, especially the Seventh Congressional District, is enthusiastically supportive of America First principles. We appreciated working together on election integrity legislation during his time in the General Assembly, and look forward to working together during his time in Congress!"
