After figuring out how to store an on/off signal in midinous, I was puzzled of it’s use.
This example is an 8-bit counter (0 to 256) clearly shown by the LED’s. It counts up every time the first loop is completed. It’s connected to 8 loop, mostly for the looks, 7 of them don’t have a function for counting. With some AND gates you can trigger a loop any number from 0 to 256, not just the ones connected here. E.g. if you want to start loop B every 5th loop of A, then connect loop A with the beat counter, 2 with a BUF with NOT selected and then put it into a AND gate together with 1 and 4.
However, it only unmutes when activated. Another bit is needed to keep it unmuted or mute it at some other point.
Use case would be to have a main beat in one loop and having another loop activated after x cycles and deactivated after some others. Can this be done with notes that are triggered in a smart way? Yes... ...probably... but that would be easy. This is just another way of doing it.
Crashes are possible, this is not where Midinous was designed for.
