It’s been 3 years since I did my last iPhone video. Time for a new upgrade. First of all, I was blown away with the Apple Log. The footage is stunning. You are no longer getting that mobile phone sort of quality. Even though Apple Log was released in the 15 Pro. But still, I couldn’t believe how good the footage was.

The best thing about the ProRes Log is, you are actually having a Panasonic GH5 in your pocket. Sometimes you just want to film something quick. Or even a short instagram reels. But you still want a good quality. The Apple ProRes Log is the way to go

Another thing that I like is the 120mm lens. It is finally a decent focal length I would say. Back in the days, we had 56mm and 77mm. They were not tele enough. So I never really use it in the past. Even though the 120mm is a lot tighter now. But I still wish the aperture was a bit wider. Cos f/2.8 on a tiny sensor doesn’t give you any depth at all.

Overall I think the iPhone 16 Pro shoots beautiful video. I don’t need the phone to do 8K or crazy slowmo. I just need a good sensor and good lens.

This video I didn’t get to test out the 4K 120p much as I had to get this video out quickly. If I have time I’m going to make a part 2 of the iPhone 16 Pro Max.

Note:
Right now, the Black Magic phone app isn’t fully compatible with the iPhone 16 Pro Max. The app cannot stabilize the lens properly. It shifting the image a lot during my shoot. So I had to use the default app for now
