About the mix by Johnny Deep.
I was excited to present this DJ mix for Lucidflow, a label who have been great to work with and shown great support for my music. I was encouraged to add some Lucidflow releases to this mix and the first 3 tracks all come from this label in the deep tech genre. I was tempted to add one of my releases but since my recent releases are quite left field, I chose to stay true to the journey i wished to create.

What started as lovely atmospheric deep tech picks up pace and groove and the journey morphs into deep minimal techno, certainly one of my favourite genres. I tried to find the balance between dubby bleep tech as well as cheeky melodic techno grooves and a dash of euphoric.

Often, with these sort of mixes, DJs like to keep all the music brand new or very recent but I don't necessarily apply such rules. As I was getting deeper into the minimal techno, I started to go retrospective, playing tracks 5 years old or so. I chose musical cohesion over trying to make a medley of only brand new tracks and I feel that's why the mix is cohesive and sounds overall like one journey, one piece of music. I really hope you enjoy the vibe!
