"Growing up in South London my love of electronic music began at 8 years old, listening to pirate radio stations, cranking the bass on the 6 band EQ on the front of the stereo because I liked it, but didn’t know quite why. I got my first set of decks in 1999 at 16 and being a DJ became my hobby. By 18 it had become a small business, playing the music I loved as a mobile disco at many birthday parties across London, while providing me the means to keep buying all the 12” records to fund my vinyl collection.

During the early 2000’s I was encapsulated by the emerging liquid DnB and started to quest out the raves that were pushing that sound. Club nights such as Swerve @ the End (Fabio’s night), where I was treated to the freshest cuts every Wednesday. Listening regularly to the likes of Marcus Intalex, Commix, Alix Perez, Aaron jay to name a few, laid the frame work for my future sound. It was at one of these nights that I met Silvio (SMP) and the ground work was laid for future collaborations as we were both starting out as young, fresh producers.

My first big break came when my tune “Interlude” got picked up by, arguably the scene’s most respected label, Metalheadz on their Platinum Breaks 4 album followed swiftly by the release of “Sublime EP” on Fokuz 12”. Following these releases, I embarked on a series of collaborations with SMP, and Emilio (HLZ) who has been a real mentor to me, pushing me to explore synthesis and moving Bipolar’s sound further away from piano driven liquid and more towards the sound you hear today. We still produce together to this day and there is an EP in the works.

This pretty much brings us up to present day where I am only now really beginning to develop a unique sound, 15 years into the production journey, which is more on the electronic tip, a fusion of Metalheadz and Soul:R vibes. This mix showcase's my love of a journey and the variety of styles and musicality that I think we need to bring back to the drum and bass scene.
