i don't understand why they can't just do a spiritual successor to sonic r. like, the riders series was fun because the hoverboards were a neat gimmick and the handling was pretty alright - hell, i actually even liked free riders as a dipshit kid. to put sonic in a car is just the dumbest shit ever. there are a million ways that an on-foot racing game could be done well, but apparently every single racing game must play exactly the same in a post-mario kart culture. i actually don't think i've ever really talked about racing games. the only one that i like as a standalone game is f zero x - everything else either requires other people in order to be fun or otherwise doesn't have good handling. honestly, i'm not a big genre-title guy - i just like video games that are good, and if they happen to be common among the releases of one genre, then whoop-de-doo, but my taste in games can't be represented by or made exclusive to one genre. i don't really like stealth games besides metal gear and thief, so i can't call myself a stealth fan; i don't care for bethesda games besides daggerfall and kinda morrowind, so i can't call myself a bethesda fan; i don't like metroidvania titles besides aria of sorrow, so i can't call myself a metroidvania fan; and you get the idea (go play these games, by the way. i've never had the chance to talk about thief (the original one - 2 is good, too), daggerfall, or aria of sorrow, which are all great games). maybe i could have the opportunity to talk about shit if i ever get around to making other types of vids, which i've wanted to do (alongside chiptune, i'm autistically attached to this shit by this point) for years. i think it'd be funny to just sling a bunch of video types at the wall and see what sticks. cooking show, gardening show, maybe that interactive let's-play, random ramblings, whatever. always good to diversify tastes in things or in the things that you do, creatively. when i write, i mostly do literary fiction shorts with an overarching long project over a period of time, but i also try to take time to write comedy skits or whatever if i feel like doing a study on character writing instead of prose development. i'd like to maybe start putting that same kind of variety into the types of vids that i release on this channel just because i can and i feel like it. i don't think i'm cut out to make full-scale comedic game reviews, and i sure as shit don't want to be adding to the pile of slop that is the gay and pretentious video essay genre, but i would enjoy some kind of avenue to actually use my voice for some kind of side-show.
