Mystical Ninja: Starring Goemon - Consecutive Fighting! Large Boss Mode

While doing all the 1CC shenanigans I've been up to recently, I took a quick break to play another one of my favorites: the giant robot boss battle mode from the Peach Mountain Weirdoes Goemon game on 64. I mean, you'd think I'd've had my fill with all that Virtual-On...

... but no. Not me. I dig giant robots.

If you're wondering how to unlock this fun mode for yourself, it's simply done by finding all the Fortune Cat Dolls/maxing out your health gauge in a run.

Also, for the folks wondering how to do some of the special moves in the video, and don't have access to the manual, here they are:

-C-Down, C-Down+A performs a kick. It's a powerful alternative to punching, and can knock backwards. What makes it super handy is that it can also be tacked on after certain attacks, such as a string of jabs with B, or the Hundred-Hit Punch.

-C-Up, C-Down, C-Up+A performs the Hundred-Hit Punch, which sends a barrage of punches directly in front of Impact. The attack has great coverage and can trash most things in the middle of the screen, perfect for a barrage of punchable projectiles. It's also got a ton of active frames, so enemies dumb enough to charge into it will get caught by it. Even better, as long as the enemy gets tagged by at least one hit of the initial barrage, the enemy will then proceed to get bopped for a fixed number of hits after. As mentioned above, you can also tack on a kick after this attack for extra damage.

-C-Up, C-Right, C-Down, C-Left+Z performs the Blast Beam, and requires the gauge in the middle of the cockpit to be full and flashing. (That's what it's for!) The crazy thing about the Blast Beam is that it's got a surprisingly narrow hitbox, but hits obscenely hard, and can even OTG. In other words, you can knock down the enemy, and then Blast Beam them before they get up, and it'll still connect. It's insane. Even crazier, the Blast Beam actually has priority over some of the bosses' special moves where they turn invincible and force you to block or punch your way through!

-R launches the chain pipe, and once you've hooked an enemy, mash A+B simultaneously to fill the blue gauge in the middle of the cock pit to reel in an opponent and put them in range for a series of punches. With good timing, you can surprisingly hook enemies on wakeup, and give them little room to breathe.
