French President Emmanuel Macron Deploys Charles de Gaulle To Mediterranean Amid Escalation

Описание: French President Emmanuel Macron has ordered the aircraft carrier Charles de Gaulle to set sail for the Mediterranean as tensions escalate across the Middle East.

In a national address, Macron said the conflict, triggered by strikes from the United States and Israel against Iran, is spreading and poses grave risks to regional peace and global security. He stated that Iran bears primary responsibility for the worsening situation.

France is also reinforcing its presence near Cyprus by sending additional air defence equipment and the frigate Languedoc after recent drone attacks in the area. Macron warned that a potential Israeli ground operation would represent a dangerous escalation and a strategic error.

With nearly 400,000 French citizens currently in the region, Paris has begun organising repatriation flights for those wishing to return. The first two flights are scheduled to arrive in Paris as France balances military readiness with efforts to protect civilians and prevent a wider regional war.
