The BURN mode in the Express 5:25+ is primarily designed for High Gain and combined with the Graphic EQ, puts out massive modern gain sounds. In this clip, the Graphic EQ is being used to add sub lows on the 80hz slider while the 240hz slider is dropped low to deliver a tightened and tuned low end response. The saturation available from the Express Plus BURN mode is huge and if you're able to add a 2x12 or even a 4x12 Closed Back cabinet, stand back and be ready to be blown away by the legitimate modern gain potential of this workhorse amp.
Played through the Express 5:25 head with a matching Mesa 1x12 Lone Star 19 Extension Cabinet with the bridge position humbucking pickup of an Epiphone Zakk Wylde Signature with EMGs and Drop C Tuning. Mic'd with an Shure SM57 and a Sennheiser 421.
