The Woodlands Community cares deeply about those less fortunate, as do the organisers of ‘Legends Are Made’, currently being staged at the College.
“There are too many talented dancers with so much potential in South Africa but no financial support. Starting somewhere can make a big difference in a child’s life, creating a future for them,” says Duerell De Pontes, one of the event organisers.
The Magic Feet Foundation Centre, a registered non-profit organisation (NPO 267-421) was founded 28 years ago by dance teacher Salvation Molaolwe to encourage and uplift talented young dancers in and around Soweto in Ballroom Dancing, Waltz, Quickstep, and other forms of Latin American dance - a legacy borne out by the many trophies won by children passing through its studio. “The dancers love what they do. Our vision is to keep the children off the streets,” says Molaolwe.
