Nous avons laissé à l'ancre notre catamaran MANA pour visiter L'île d'Española qui fait partie des îles Galápagos et qui est considérée, l'une des plus anciennes, à environ quatre millions d'années. Isla Española est l'île la plus au sud de l'archipel des Galápagos. Le climat est très sec, en raison de la planéité de l'île, c'est la plus sèche de ces îles, avec seulement quelques centimètres de pluie par an. Cette île est en train de mourir, devenant lentement une terre rocheuse et aride avec peu ou pas de végétation.

Les visiteurs viennent voir les albatros agités et les danses nuptiales des fous à pieds bleus. Cette île a ses propres espèces d'animaux, comme l'oiseau moqueur Hood, qui a un bec plus long et plus courbé que celui des îles centrales; le lézard de lave Española; et l'iguane marin qui a des marques rouges sur le dos. L'impression de rentrer dans un monde oublié .

Española Island is part of the Galápagos Islands. and is considered, one of the oldest, at approximately four million years. Isla Española is the most southerly island in the Galápagos Archipelago. The climate is very dry, due to the flatness of the island, it is the driest of these islands, with only a few inches of rain per year. While Española Island is one of the oldest of the Galápagos Islands, this island is dying, slowly becoming a rocky, barren land with little or no vegetation.

Visitors come to see the waved albatrosses and the mating dances of blue-footed boobies. This island has its own species of animals, such as the Hood mockingbird, which has a longer and more curved beak than the one on the central islands; the Española lava lizard; and the marine iguana which has red markings on its back. We had the impression of visiting a forgotten world.
