"Comin' Up Charlotte" was a podcast ethnography project, between November 2024 to June 2025, among entrepreneurs, beauticians and hustlers in Port-of-Spain. The project involved field research and the construction of a podcast recording studio in a hair braiding booth in on of Port-of-Spain's malls.
This initiative is part of a larger multi-site, collaborative research project hosted in the University of Helsinki, "Imagining Futures in the Margins of the State: Everyday Politics in Trinidad and Zimbabwe." See project website for more details: https://www.helsinki.fi/en/projects/i...
