Merapi grew up in the forests of Malaysia’s Royal Belum State Park. His Indigenous community have seen first hand the negative impact snaring has had on wildlife populations here. But he and his community are taking a stand against poaching and other illegal activities that threaten their home.
"I grew up in this forest, I love it so much: the wildlife, the herbs, and of course the tigers. I joined WWF’s anti-poaching patrol team ten years ago. The work is hard, poachers are dangerous but I'll never give up. I feel it's my duty." - Merapi
