Why do our Feet Stink?
The reason is bacteria. Bacteria love to grow in damp and dark places like our sweaty shoes. Also, they multiply easily in sweat, so if we don't wear socks then their numbers will increase rapidly.
The bacteria eat the oils as well as the dead skin cells from our skin. Now, these bacteria start getting rid of the waste in the form of organic acids. These organic acids basically give our feet that bad smell.
But, why do some people smell extremely bad?
This is because a bacteria called Kytococcus Sedentarius grows in the feet of those people who sweat a lot. Now, this bacteria produces volatile sulfur compounds. Volatile sulfur compounds have an awful smell, hence the feet of some people stink a lot.
