I love yoga, sure, but some days are harder to get on the mat than others. Remembering the big picture of why you practice can be helpful motivation. Heartfelt intentions will hold you strong.
This practice is a bendy and stretchy one; full splits (hanumanasana) is offered and you are encouraged to follow your inner yogi and know the real stretch and strength of a yoga practice is following the good information that comes from the inside out and not the other way around.
The first yama is ahimsa, usually translated as non-violence, which is correct, but not complete. My teacher Ravi Ravindra reminds us ahimsa is "non violation of the clear wisdom that comes from inner listening. Dedicate yourself to listening.
