Soundies were shown in a Mills Panoram jukebox in the 1940's. These were jukeboxes that not only had sound, but a screen to show the performers. The Mills Panoram utilized 16mm film in it's operation. 16mm films were also sold to the home market in Camera stores by Official Films. Here is one of Official Films 16mm film releases. This reel includes Dream of Old Hawaii by Lani McIntire and His Orchestra, with the Aloha Islanders, Wiggles by Napaua Wood, and The Hawaiian War Chant by Princess Momakai with The Hawaiian Ensemble. These were the first music videos. Who can resist the graceful Polynesian Hula dance of the Hawaiian Islands. From 16mm b-w film.
