Washing Machine E20 Error Code (Meaning, Why It Happens And Solutions To The Problem). In this video tutorial I will show how to fix Washing Machine E20 error code.
An e20 error message display on a washing machine indicates a draining issue. A washing machine with an e20 error code will usually have water left inside the machine after a wash and make unusual sounds during a wash.
The following are some of the causes of the e20 error.
The drain hose is in the incorrect position.
An e20 error can occur when the draining hose extends more than 10cm into the drain.
Incorrect drain height.
An e20 error message can occur on your washing machine when the drain height is less than 60 cm from the base of your machine.
A pinched, draining hose.
The e20 error can occur when the draining hose of your washing machine is pinched, thus preventing your machine from draining water from the tub.
A blocked draining pump\filter.
A blocked draining pump/filter results in a malfunction of the draining system of your washing machine. This malfunction results in the e20 error code message.
Use of a lot of powdered soap.
Using high volumes of powdered soap produces a lot of foam. This thick foam blocks the drainage system of your washing machine, thus causing the e20 error.
Apply these to fix the e20 error.
Position correctly the drain hose.
You can correct an e20 error on your washing machine by re-installing the draining hose. To do this:
• Uninstall the drain hose from your machine.
• Ensure the draining hose extends no more than 10 cm.
• Install the draining hose back to the machine.
Position correctly the drain height.
If the e20 error persists after repositioning your draining hose, you can try and re-adjust the draining height of your machine. To achieve this:
• Position your washing machine so that the drain height is not less than 60cm and not greater than 100cm from the base of your machine.
Inspect the draining hose for pinches.
If the draining height is not the problem, then you’ll need to inspect your drain hose for pinches. To do this:
• Check the draining hose for pinches along its length.
Inspect the draining pump/filter for blockages.
• Open the flap on the bottom of your machine housing the draining filter.
• Twist the filter cap, remove the draining filter, and let the water drain from your machine.
• Remove any debris on the draining filter and inside its insertion point.
• Wash the draining filter with warm water and soap.
• Re-install the draining filter.
Use less powdered soap.
If all these methods fail, then a final possible solution would be to use less powdered soap to avoid blockages from occurring as a result of foam.
