(16 Mar 2018) NEW BANKSY MURAL SUPPORTS JAILED TURKISH ARTIST
A new mural in New York by British artist Banksy features the imprisoned Turkish artist and journalist Zehra Dogan.
The mural features hash marks for everyday Dogan will be in jail.
Dogan was taken in to custody last year for a painting she did of the of the Turkish village of Nusaybin.
Nusaybin is a predominantly Kurdish village that saw heavy fighting between the Turkish military and members of the Kurdistan Workers' Party, or PKK in 2016.
At night, the painting Dogan painted of Nusaybin is projected above the Banksy work.
