Completed in early 2025, the final stage of this large-scale transformation upgraded 1,500 metered outlets, automated 360 regulators, refurbished 20 kilometres (12 miles) of open earth channels, and constructed a new 5,000 megalitre (4,000 acre-foot) surge reservoir. Together, these improvements alone are saving 7,400 megalitres (6,000 acre-feet) of water each year. These results compliment a decade-long modernisation program that has lifted network efficiency to over 90%, delivering water savings for growers, the environment and the broader community.
