Algebraic proof GCSE maths - sum of squares of odd numbers question

This video is all about algebraic proof and forms part of the playlist on algebra proof.

The question is aimed at around grade 7+ GCSE maths and, like most of tyhese questions, is quite difficult to understand.

Prove that the sum of the squares of any two consecutive odd numbers, is always 2 more than a multiple of 8.

You'll need to work from the first odd number as 2n + 1, followed by the second odd number 2n + 3 ... and then go from there.
