The day after the cattle show, the 2022 Goat Show (Ziegenschau) was held in Appenzell. Since 1913, the “Gässschau” has taken place the day after the main livestock exhibition, traditionally on the Brauereiplatz. Until 1962, it was held at the Landsgemeindeplatz.
For breeders, the goat show is the highlight of the year. For visitors, it’s a unique opportunity to see a large number of the distinctive Appenzell goats gathered in one place.
