Big Sky makes history with opening of world's longest 8-seat chairlift

Описание: Big Sky Resort made history this season with the opening of the Madison 8, the longest 8-person chairlift in the world with an inclined length of 8,631 feet.

The traditional Doppelmeyer bell rang in a new era for skiers on Friday, signaling the grand opening of the chairlift.

The Madison 8 uses top of the line technology, including automated safety bars and a haul rope that reduces vibration and makes for a quieter ride.

With nearly double the uphill capacity of its predecessor, a 30% shorter ride time, and all the amenities to keep skiers warm on the way up, the Madison 8 replaces the resort’s former Six Shooter lift, which had a reputation for being the coldest on the mountain.
