Two men aged 40 and 33 carjacked a 48-year-old father at knifepoint outside Ruyton Girls' School in Kew while he waited to collect his daughter. The offenders fled after being unable to start the stolen Mercedes and hid in a nearby garden for four hours before being arrested by police. One of the alleged carjackers was found with a fake gun, and both men were charged and faced court without applying for bail.
