Game of Gold featured a variety of poker personalities, including the charismatic Yoh Viral of France. In round 1 of the show, he faces off against poker stream record holder Lukas Robinson in an electrifying battle of the blinds. Yoh Viral showcases his wizardry skills as he attempts to extract maximum value with pocket queens across all three streets.
Whenever the board is reasonably draw heavy, but no flush or straight is available, you should often bet with a more polarized range using a larger bet size. This means you want to bet your strongest hands and your weakest hands, and check with your medium-strength hands.
Johan Guilbert "YoH ViraL" is a professional poker player from France. He has over $4,000,000 in live tournament earnings, putting him in the top 450 on the all-time money list. His largest score of $892,811 came in Rozvadov where he finished 2nd in the World Series of Poker Europe (WSOPE) Main event, in 2021. He is the most popular French poker vlogger with over 172,000 subscribers and close to 1,000 videos.
Lukas Robinson “RobinPoker” is a professional poker player from England. He has over $50,000 in live tournament earnings. He is known for being the first PokerNews ambassador, a role that sees him streaming online poker on Twitch. He made a name for himself in 2021 when he became the first poker player to stream his poker sessions for over 1,000 hours across 100 consecutive days.
Filmed in Seoul, South Korea and hosted by experienced poker broadcaster Ali Nejad, Game of Gold combines high stakes poker with survival reality TV. Over the course of the 12 episodes, the sixteen participants competed across various poker formats, including Sit & Go’s, Heads-Up games, Indian Poker and a standard tournament poker game.
The poker players on the show included Daniel Negreanu “KidPoker”, Jason Koon, Fedor Holz “CrownUpGuy”, Kevin Martin, Kyna England, Josh Arieh, Daniel Cates “Jungleman”, Lukas Robinson “RobinPoker”, Nikita Luther, Charlie Carrel “Epiphany77”, Johan Guilbert “YoH ViraL”, Olga Iermolcheva, David Williams, Andy Tsai “Andy Stacks”, Michael Soyza, and Maria Ho.
In Round 1, a four-tier Sit & Go poker format, each team (spades, diamonds, hearts, and clubs) put a poker player into a separate round of four-handed poker action, with Game of Gold coins on offer for finishing first, second, third, or fourth. The rounds increased in the amount of coins that were offered, until the fourth ‘mystery’ round, where no-one knew how many coins were on offer. The team with the least Game of Gold coins at the end of all four Sit & Go’s would be eliminated.
The final six players competed in a winner-take-all format Sit & Go (SNG). This was unique as it meant there was no Independent Chip Model (ICM) pressure on any of the poker players.

🔍 Pre-Flop Action:
In the first orbit of this sit & go with blinds at 10,000/20,000, Lukas Robinson in the small blind decides to call the big blind with T8o. Yoh Viral in the big blind raises to 60,000 with pocket queens. Robinson makes the call to see a flop out of position.
💸 Flop - Jh 7c 6s:
Robinson flops a gutshot straight draw and checks from the small blind. Yoh Viral, holding an overpair with his ladies, fires out a continuation bet for 90,000. Robinson isn’t folding just yet, as he opts to call and see a turn.
💣 Turn - 8c:
The 8 of clubs on the turn doesn’t complete Robinson’s gutshot straight draw, but it does give him second pair. He checks once more, allowing Yoh Viral to continue his aggression with a hefty bet of 200,000. Robinson decides to call again, hoping to improve to two-pair, trips, or a straight on the river.
🌊 River - Kc:
The river is the K of clubs, completing a potential backdoor flush. Robinson fails to improve and is now left with third pair. He checks for the final time to Yoh Viral, who surely can’t be pleased to see an overcard to his pair of queens. Nevertheless, the French professional looks to extract more value from his opponent by firing out a bet of 410,000. Now it's up to Robinson to determine whether Yoh Viral is value betting or bluffing. If you want to find out what he does, you'll have to watch until the end of this exciting poker video!
