We found him after one of the coldest nights of the year.
Heavy rain had flooded the city.
Temperatures dropped below zero.
And Narenji had fallen into a dirty water channel.

By morning, he was shaking uncontrollably.

Mud and polluted water had entered his
system.

His body was freezing.
His eyes were tired.
Not from sleep — but from fighting to stay alive.

Today is Day 19.

Narenji is still weak.
Still recovering.
Still in pain.

But he is here.
And he is still fighting.

Sometimes rescue doesn’t look heroic.
Sometimes it’s just warmth.
Patience.
And refusing to give up on someone who almost did.
