In this video you see/hear a Thorens AD‑30W music box, which plays 4.5‑inch metal discs.
Each disc has a unique tune, and you can swap them to play different songs. I’ve recorded all the discs from my collection, so you can hear the variety of tunes produced for this machine
The machine works mechanically, no electricity involved. You wind it up, drop in a disc, and it plays. The sound produced comes from a metal comb being plucked by the pins on the disc.
Some of the discs are folk tunes, some are classical pieces, and some are less common. If you like music boxes, this is a fun little cheap one.
