A video to record the special, early thrush singing in the garden this year.
A special treat for the singing to be this clear and frequent, so early in the year, despite windy and chilly conditions.
Beginning around the third week of January, just before Storm Chandra hit, with a single brave Mistle thrush, just North of the house. Followed by a rival across the valley a couple of days later. Spurred on by this, a Song thrush has joined them, singing its much more varied song in the garden.
There are a few other birds mixed in, along with a bit of wind noise, and a few video clips taken in generally damp grey conditions of the early garden flowers. The Red Kite, which features in the video, hardly beat its wings, just trimming its wing and tail feathers to circle over me.
The bird song and video clips have been cross-stitched by me, but all were recorded over about a 5 day period ending on January 30th 2026, at Gelli Uchaf.
