Gothic Basin & Foggy Lake | One of Washington State's Most Spectacular Day Hikes

Описание: Hiking Gothic Basin and Foggy Lake is one brutal but beautiful day hike in Washington State — and in this video, we take you along for the entire journey. Located off the Mountain Loop Highway in the North Cascades, this challenging trail rewards hikers with waterfalls, dense forest, alpine terrain, and stunning views of Foggy Lake, Gothic Peak, and Del Campo Peak.

This hike is a favorite of ours because of the incredible variety of scenery. You’ll move through swampy lowlands, lush forest, rocky switchbacks, waterfall crossings, and exposed alpine basins before reaching Foggy Lake. It’s the kind of hike that feels different every time you do it — and one we highly recommend for strong day hikers or as an overnight backpacking trip if you want time to explore the upper basin.

In this video, we hike the full trail to Gothic Basin and Foggy Lake, sharing trail conditions, elevation gain, campsites, and what to expect along the way. You’ll also get real trail footage from start to finish, including steep climbs, rocky sections, waterfalls, alpine views, and the final approach into the basin.
