Katie Pix is a food blogger & influencer who originally worked for Chef Jaime Oliver. Her love for food and adventure brought her to Canada, for a road trip of self-discovery and reconnecting with nature.

Her trip brought her to the Muskoka region. Here, she enjoyed jet skiing on the lake and exploring local establishments & restaurants offering the freshest produce the district has to offer. Afterwards, she made her way to Muskoka Brewery, a craft brewery in the heart of the city that handcrafts premium beers enjoyed by locals. She ended the first leg of her trip by watching the sunset atop the Huckleberry Rock Lookout in Bracebridge, one of the best views in all of Muskoka.

The next day, Katie took to the road and made her way to Algonquin Provincial Park, known for its multiple lakes, beautiful landscape & forestry, and the large Lake of Two Rivers. Frank Kuiack, a local guide and fisherman who fell in love with the park many years ago explained the magical experience of getting lost in nature and connecting to the wild, while fishing for their lunch!

Afterwards, Katie brought her fresh catch to Chef David Cooke of Arowthon Pines. Together, they picked the freshest ingredients from the outdoors to cook their lunch over an open fire. They cooked a dish called the Traditional Ontario Shore Lunch.

Throughout her trip, Katie realized that Canadians know produce in a completely different mindset. This gave her an opportunity to disconnect, be in the moment, lose herself, and discover a piece of her she never knew was gone.
