I could not find out much about history, but this is what I found
Jacobys Shorecrest Mason County Park. The 2.8-acre park serves as a year-round saltwater access point with a boat launch and picnic facilities.
The park is located within the ancestral lands of the Twana (Coast Salish) people, who historically wintered near the mouths of local rivers and used cedar plank homes. The development of the surrounding Shorecrest area and Hammersley Inlet was significantly influenced by local logging industry and the expansion of transportation, such as the early 20th-century ferry services crossing Pickering Passage and the growth of the Simpson Logging Company in nearby Shelton.
