In the summer of a rural Arkansas county, a paralyzed seventeen-year-old girl stood up from her wheelchair during a tent revival and walked. Three hundred people witnessed it. Word spread fast. And eleven terminally ill patients decided that if God could do that for her, maybe He could do it for them too.

By winter, nine of them were dead.

This is the story of Dr. Thaddeus Mireles, the only oncologist for forty miles, who watched his patients walk away from their only chance at survival one by one — and could not stop a single one of them.
