Kidapawan City, located at the foot of Mount Apo in North Cotabato, is making its mark as a model for waste management in the Philippines!
Known as the City of Fruits and Highland Springs, this city is showing us how a community can turn waste into something useful through Project WISE (Waste Innovation for Sustainable Environment), a partnership between World Vision, Coca Cola Foundation Philippines Inc., and the City Government of Kidapawan.
Through the project, 10,902 households from three barangays and nine schools are now actively practicing proper waste segregation and solid waste management. Families separate their trash at home before bringing it outside.
