I’m making a series about Mormon history. Today is about why they felt the need to flee west to Utah. The history of early Mormonism and Joseph Smith takes many turns. Starting in the Burnt-Over District of New York, I’ll cover the creation of Mormonism; move to Kirtland; expansion to Missouri; their bank failure; a war of expulsion; refuge in Nauvoo, Illinois; and the prophet’s final demise. It is a fascinating and unique tale.
