Filmed overnight in 8°F conditions, this video documents the dismantling of a 12-foot-tall, 10-metric-ton ice sculpture installation in the Channel Gardens at Rockefeller Center.
The installation—on display January 30–31, 2026—was a Ralph Lauren (Polo Ralph Lauren) tribute to Team USA ahead of the Milano Cortina 2026 Winter Olympics.
Featuring ice sculptures of Team USA athletes Madison Chock (figure skating), Red Gerard (snowboarding), and Brenna Huckaby (Para snowboarding), with an additional sculpture of speed skater Erin Jackson at Top of the Rock, this was the largest ice installation ever displayed at Rockefeller Center, weighing over 22,000 pounds.
Crafted over five days by World Ice Art Champions, the exhibit was designed as a disruptive outdoor experience blending fashion, art, and sport.
As far as I know, this is the only behind-the-scenes footage of the overnight dismantling process.
