The usual problem in 3dsMax while manipulating camera clippping planes is that, since they are bound to the camera, if you move your camera you will need to readjust the clipping distance to match the previous location.

This super-handy tool gives you the ability to bind the clipping planes directly to objects in your scene, so even if you move the camera, they will stay in the right position. And if you turn on the “auto-adjust FOV” option, you will be able to freely move your camera towards or away from the target while keeping the same clipping and framming!
This speeds up your workflow considerably.

Bind the camera clipping planes to objects in the scene
Pick an object to control the distance for near clipping and another one for far clipping.
Optionally set an offset from the picked object in each case.
Automatically places the near clipping plane on the face of the picked object that is closest to the camera.
If you pick an object with no surface, such as a helper, it uses the object pivot to calculate the distance for clipping.
