A look back at the first 3 years onboard the SaltyJocks with my kids. There was a lot of doubt that it was even possible to sail from Perth to Darwin single handed with very limited experience with my daughters Isla, 1yr old and Halle 5yrs old at the time we left.
I wasn't sure I could make it or outlast the difficult spells and the rough weather/ boat breakdowns/ engine and problems with just about everything else. But we made it. What a massive endeavour it was and the greatest experience of my life.. So far!

Also just to clarify, although we received a lot of help in Darwin. I had been buying equipment, parts for solar, water maker, chart plotter and much more, while I was in the Kimberley and Perth and sending it to Darwin in preparation for the upgrades, not to mention a super withdrawal to get on top of expenses! But if you know boats you'll know they're never satisfied!
