One universal idea is that the Chinese Gender Calendar is based on lunar cycles, relative to the agricultural calendar (yin-yang-li). Considerations

To make the chart as accurate as possible, the mother’s age must be calculated according to the Chinese lunar calendar, rather than the standard Western calendar.
Those mothers whose birthdays occur between Feb. 21st and Dec. 31st on the Gregorian calendar must add another year to their age in order to be accurate. For example, a 25-year-old-mother born on July 5th would actually consider herself to be 26 years of age instead of 25.

History

The Chinese baby gender predictor is believed to be more than 700 years old and developed by an ancient scholar in the Song Dynasty. Although the chart’s history is somewhat uncertain, it’s thought to have been inadvertently discovered in an unnamed tomb somewhere in the land of China. The original copy of the ancient document rests in the Beijing Electronic Science and Technology Institute.

Even though the Chinese gender prediction chart has proven to be 93% accurate, it should not be considered a foolproof way of predicting or planning a pregnancy with the idea that whoever uses it will get exactly what the chart predicts.
